Rookie Spotlight: “Derrick Kindred” (SS) (Browns)

Derrick Kindred

Cleveland Browns

Strong Safety (SS)

TCU

5-10

205

2016 (Draft Class)

Kindred caught my eye from Day1 of viewing his play as a collegiate at TCU. When the Cleveland Browns selected him in the 4th round, not only did they pull off a draft day steal, but their future in-the-box starting strong safety (SS).

What Kindred brings to the table is an old skool “In-The-Box”, between the hashes attacker of the ball. Who consistently looks to initiate first contact on opponents, and provides sideline to sideline pursuit to the ball.

If what you are looking for in your back4 on the defensive side of the ball, is an enforcer who specializes defending the run, and who instantly establishes himself as a physical presence tempo setter versus opponents, then Kindred is your player!

Looking to the future, can envision him as an integral leader on a championship type style defense!
