INITIAL DISCOVERY

My initial evaluation of Marshall came while he was at Boise State during the 2025 collegiate season. His combination of size, athleticism, football IQ, and competitive nature immediately stood out on film.

STRENGTHS

  • Marshall displays a long frame with room for additional weight & growth.
  • He is very fluid before and after the catch.
  • He displays an excellent competitive toughness. Who becomes offended whenever a single defender brings him down. He plays with noticeable passion and emotion for the game, and is never satisfied, unless the play ends in the green for 6!
  • Marshall looks like a professional playing at the collegiate level at times. His physical build, developed route tree, and competitive mentality consistently stand out on film.
  • He understands the nuances of route running, and consistently finds ways to gain advantages over defenders.
  • He shows more than competent ability, to defeat bump-and-run coverage at the line of scrimmage.
  • He uses his hands & arms effectively against defenders. Displaying veteran-like manipulation, and consistently gaining advantages early within his routes.
  • He's an excellent route runner. Who is excellent at disguising his intentions, and making it difficult for defenders to anticipate where he is going within his routes.
  • Marshall displays really good subtle movement throughout his routes. Which consistently throws defenders off balance, creating separation.
  • He shows excellent body control throughout routes, especially for a WR of his size.
  • He displays good concentration, and focus on passes thrown in his direction. Especially on downfield throws.
  • He shows no hesitation working across the middle, and maintaining his concentration with defenders closing.
  • He displays the ability to consistently adjust his body to passes thrown outside his normal catch radius.
  • Marshall really displays an effective knack for high-pointing the football.
  • He is an excellent hands catcher. Who consistently extends and catches the football away from his body.
  • Marshall possesses strong hands at the catch point. He consistently shows the ability to make contested grabs, even with defenders draped all over him.
  • He shows the ability to make difficult, acrobatic catches. Extending his body, and bringing in passes most receivers simply can't.
  • He quickly transitions upfield after the catch. Always looking to maximize every reception.
  • Marshall possesses a natural wiggle and creativity after the catch. Allowing him to set defenders up, make them miss, and consistently create additional yardage.
  • He's effective on quick passes to the outside. Where his combination of size, agility, creativity, and stronger-than-expected lower-body strength is on display.
  • He absorbs significant contact well. Frequently bouncing off defenders for additional yardage, and showing the ability to quickly get back up after taking hard hits.
  • When his offense needs a big play, frequently it's Marshall they look to! And he consistently shows the ability to deliver.
  • His level of play rises whenever a higher-caliber of defender, or defensive team challenges him.
  • Marshall looks closer to a 4.45/40 athlete in space from a scouting view. Which is more than adequate for a receiver of his size, and skill set.

WEAKNESSES

  • He needs to display greater enthusiasm, and consistency in his blocking assignments.
  • Marshall possesses a relatively thin frame. Especially through his lower body. Adding additional weight & functional strength could take his game to another level.
  • He displays strong natural receiving skills. But there are occasional inconsistencies securing the football, especially for someone with his overall skill set.

INJURY HISTORY

2023 — Marshall sustained an ankle injury at Kilgore College, that reportedly sidelined him for approximately five weeks.

2024 — He was limited to four games at Boise State. Injuries caused him to miss significant time, with soft-tissue injuries reportedly affecting his season and following spring.

2025 — Marshall missed two games at Boise State, after suffering an undisclosed injury during practice.

PLAYER SUMMARY

Marshall reminds me of "George Pickens" with his size, build, skill set, and especially his competitive nature for the game and versus opponents. Though he may lack Pickens' overall speed.

Marshall's competitive nature consistently jumps off the film. Whether fighting through coverage, competing at the catch point, or immediately transitioning upfield after the catch. He plays as though every reception should produce the maximum amount of yardage possible.

The upside is there projecting to the next level. Just certain inconsistencies in his game drops his overall draft value.
